Beer
Loosely defined beer is an alcoholic beverage made by fermenting sugars with yeast. Most modern laws differentiate beer from other alcohol based on the Alcohol by Volume (ABV) of the beverage.
Wine
Wine is an alcholic beverage traditionally made from grapes. The ABV of most wine is usually higher than most beer. Grapes are the traditional ingredient in making wine but other fruits may be used.
Cider
A beverage made from apple juice. Hard cider is almost always fermented and contains alcohol. Some beverages called Cider may be flavored with spices and may not contain alcohol.
Mead
A fermented alcohlic beverage made from honey.
